All humans engage in behaviors, all day, everyday.
Whether it's an acceptable behavior like saying hello, or a challenging behavior like hitting, behaviors are happening all around us.
There is an upwards of 25+ students in a general education classroom. Each one of those children engage in behaviors, whether acceptable or challenging.
Teachers are fed up with not getting any help in with challenging behaviors. They search new "classroom management" ideas and none of them work. There is a reason why the fads of managing a classroom do not work: they are not scientifically proven. Behavior analysis techniques are scientifically proven and should be used in every classroom.
Using Applied Behavior Analysis in a general education or a special education classroom will improve much more than classroom management techniques. Figuring out the function of children's behaviors and using that knowledge to reinforce their behavior will improve moral, self confidence, stress levels, and much more.
WITH MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF ABA, MY GOAL IS TO HELP ALL TEACHERS UNDERSTAND WHY CHILDREN BEHAVE THE WAY THEY DO AND HOW TO REDUCE THOSE CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS.
